When you love someone, you need to remember that love is not jealous or selfish. If you love your husband, you shouldn’t be overly jealous. He has a right to spend time doing his own things and being with his friends or family. Not everything he does has to include you. You also should remember that love is not demanding that he wait on you hand and foot. Yes, he should help a bit around the house but he shouldn’t do everything while you sit down. Love is give and take.
To show your husband that you love him, show through actions. Men often base their beliefs on actions and for them actions do speak louder than words. If he hates to do the dishes, do the dishes and trade with him something else, such as taking out the trash. He’ll appreciate that you’re doing something he hates and will not made doing something you hate. Draw a bath for him, give him surprise hugs or make his favorite meals. These simple things let him know that you love him because you act like you do. However, if you don’t want to do something and do it anyway, it will show and he will simply feel insecure.
Tell your husband that you love him and appreciate him. While most men are not as vocal as their wives are, they do appreciate being told that they are loved and needed. Even if it sounds corny, tell him. He’ll be very happy that you did. One of the best ways of showing your husband that you love him is to simply be there. If he’s had a hard day at work, let him vent without interrupting him. Or even simply sit close by so he knows you’re available when he wants to talk and more than likely he will. When he’s doing something in the living room, do something else – such as read or a puzzle – and he’ll feel loved that you’re allowing him time to do what he wants, while still finding a way to spend time with him. Your presence will tell him all he needs to know.
