The search for the perfect man takes time, effort, and sometimes seems to be impossible. Once you find the man you think is The One how do you keep him? These steps will help you make him want you more and keep him interested in you.

1. You are a Prize.

Make him understand that you are not a backup plan. You are a prize and should be his priority. If he calls and wants you to go somewhere last minute, say you’re busy, even if you aren’t. This may seem cold, but it will make him understand that if he wants to see you, he has to make an effort. He will make dates at least a day in advance, and will try to make sure your time is his time.

2. Consider Your Answer.

When he asks you for a date, pause for a moment before you say yes. This will make him realize that you are considering it, not just jumping at the chance. He will know he could lose you because you will make it clear that you don’t have to spend your time with him. He’ll work harder to keep you and will ignore other girls.

3. Be Flexible.

If you want to go out to a fancy dinner, and he instead has you come to his apartment to watch a slasher flick, go with it. Instead of being angry with him, understand he’s trying to share something he is interested in, and is wanting to spend time with you. Don’t make a date into a battle, or he won’t want another one. He’ll be thrilled that you spent time watching his favorite movie, even if you hated it, and he’ll be willing to work that much harder to keep you.

4. Remind him.

When you are walking with him, let go of his hand first. Subconsciously, he will realize that he needs to focus on just you or you might drift away from him. He’ll pay more attention.

5. Take a Trip.
If he starts taking you for granted, then take a trip without him. Get together with some girlfriends, a sister, or some cousins and take a trip for the weekend. Tell him you won’t be anywhere your cell phone will pick up. This way, he won’t be calling all the time, but he will miss you. When you get back, he’ll want you more than he ever has because he will see how lonely it could be.

6. Stay Pretty.

Even if you are sure that your man isn’t looking at any other women, keep dressing up for him. He’ll love that you think enough of him to keep yourself up and you’ll feel better for it too.

7. Be Informed.

Men want to be able to talk to you so keep informed. Listen to the news and read. Know what is going on in the world so you can have a decent conversation and let your man know you are as smart as he is – maybe more so.
