If you’re looking for love with a man it’s vital to understand what men want in a woman. After all you may be able to find a man but to keep him you’ll have to not only know what he wants in a woman but be able to deliver at least some of it.

Obviously all men are different and what one wants the next one can’t stand. But to some degree men are all looking for a few similar traits in a woman – at least any man worth having.

Contrary to what you may think a man wants a woman who can think for herself and isn’t afraid to express those thoughts and opinions to others including him. While of course there must be some compromising and the man’s needs and desires should be accommodated to a certain degree a woman really needs to remain true to herself. This type of independence and strength will not only turn her potential mate on it will bolster her own self esteem.

A man wants a woman to know her own opinion, value it, and not be afraid to express it – in a nice, non-argumentative way. A man who is turned off by this in a woman is not a man to have in your life anyhow.

A woman who conforms to her boyfriend’s opinions, ideas, and hobbies is selling herself short and her man. This man will surely lose interest in her or if the relationship does develop she’s certain to end up resentful down the road.

It’s also important for a woman to keep her own interests, friends, hobbies, and activities going when she becomes involved with a man. Too often women ditch their female friends; stop attending the events they used to be regulars at, and disappear from all that made them who they were when they begin dating a guy.

This sad occurrence could be what makes many relationships and even marriages unable to last for the long haul. And what’s more a man doesn’t want a woman whose only life is him. This type of relationship can be smothering and co-dependent at best.

A man wants a woman who maintains her own life and is able to balance it with spending time with him and showing an interest in his life.

It’s easy to abandon your own life when you start to fall in love with a man, especially if you’ve been waiting a while. But take heed! If you want him to stick around don’t stray far from the life you’ve made for yourself without him.
